The Challenge
Located just minutes from the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Lario Resort offered spacious accommodation, quality facilities, and service standards comparable to a three-star hotel. Despite its strong guest experience, the resort had very limited market visibility and depended heavily on only two Destination Management Companies (DMCs) for the majority of its business.
The property had minimal presence across leading Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), lacked an integrated revenue management system, and had no clearly defined brand story to differentiate itself within the highly competitive Sigiriya hospitality market.
Our Solution
Elevate Hospitality developed a comprehensive commercial growth strategy focused on increasing revenue, diversifying distribution channels, and strengthening the property's online presence.
Our scope included:
- Implementing the Exely Hospitality Solution, including:
- A new hotel website
- Channel Manager
- Revenue Management System
- Listing and optimising the property across leading Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), including:
- Booking.com
- Agoda
- Other international booking platforms
- Introducing Lario Resort to a network of over 200 inbound tour operators and Destination Management Companies (DMCs) across Sri Lanka, resulting in more than 15 new travel partners actively contracting and promoting the property.
- Conducting a professional photography programme to better showcase the property's accommodation, facilities, and guest experience.
- Developing a unique brand story that positioned Lario Resort as one of Sigiriya's best value-for-money accommodation options for international travellers.
- Providing ongoing revenue management, pricing optimisation, travel trade business development, and online distribution management.
- Conducting a detailed operational and sustainability analysis that demonstrated the financial benefits of replacing single-use plastic water bottles with reusable glass bottles. Following our recommendation, the property successfully transitioned to a more sustainable guest experience while reducing operating costs and improving profitability.
